Work
Parties 2008
WORK PARTY LIST
IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED A WORK PARTY AND YOUR
NAME IS NOT ON THIS SHEET PLEASE SEE A COMMITTEE MEMBER.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS MUST COMPLETE TWO WORK PARTIES.
IF YOU DON’T COMPLETE A WORK PARTY YOUR POINTS WILL NOT BE USED FOR
TROPHIES AT THE END OF THE SEASON.
IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO REARRANGE YOUR WORK PARTIES.
One work party duty
must be carried out in respect of every Senior, Junior, Family and Non Competitive
membership. The duty may be carried out by an adult or by a Junior if aged
twelve or over at 1 January 2008.
Members who do not carry out their work party duty without a valid reason
and fail to provide a substitute will not have their entries accepted on the
day or at the next show. Any points gained during the season will not be awarded.
Members of the committee will be present at all events and on all pre-event
setting up days. On arrival to do your work party duty, please ensure that
you give your name to Trish if she is there or to any other member of the
committee so that we can ensure that you are properly recorded as having attended.
Try not to think of your work party duty as a real chore. Enter into the spirit
of things and think of it more as an opportunity to put something back into
the Club that is giving you a chance to compete and have fun. If stewarding
for a judge, think of it also as an opportunity to listen, watch and learn.
If you are already very experienced yourself, think of it as a way of passing
some of your knowledge on to those less experienced to help standards to improve.
Work party duties take various forms and for those who are not familiar with
the routines the notes on the next page provide a rough guide as to what is
expected for each type of work party duty.
In addition to those listed on the work party form accompanying the membership
form, work parties may be required for other one-off tasks, such as showjump
painting, cross country course building/repairing and stewarding at Area competitions.
Any additional help or skill that you can offer please let any of the committee
know.
